Good afternoon Scouts and Families of Troop 252,
I hope that you are all safe and well. I have added this new feature to the website so that I can add information on a fairly regular schedule to keep our Troop scouts and families up to date with what is going on. With that said...
We are in the midst of a very interesting, challenging and sometimes chaotic time. The Covid-19 virus has changed the landscape of a lot of what we see and do everyday. It has changed how we visit and gather with one another, it has changed how our children and young adults learn, it has changed how people worship, it has changed everything. The scouting program has not been without its changes as well. At least for me, it is an interesting time. It is a chance for us to explore a new method to stay engaged with our scouts and families. There is a BIG learning curve for all of us in these waters, so nothing is etched in stone and stay permanent.
As an opportunity to progress forward and stay engaged with our scouts, we are going to begin VIRTUAL PATROL meetings, starting on May 11th from 7pm- 8pm using a virtual meeting platform (check emails for which one). We conducted a virtual PLC this last Monday on May 4th, and aside from the Oath and Law being recited a little off sync, I would declare the meeting a success and a lot of fun! It was great to see our Scouts again! Check the Home page of our website for the upcoming meeting dates as they will be held by PATROL ONLY....not as a full Troop meeting. Scouts are still required to wear a black or red Class B shirt OR just a plain black or red T-shirt.
As this is the first blog and attempt at a new way to communicate with the troop, if anyone has questions, please feel free to email me. I will do my best to check in on this blog every day or two, but email is still the best way to contact me.
Stay safe, stay healthy, stay happy....#WereInThisTogether
